Shaun Chapman, 34, of Lava Street, Warrnambool, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to breaching an intervention order and and making threats to kill.

When asked why he should be placed on another community corrections order, Chapman said he enjoyed the community work and was a great asset to the work team.

He said he saw his doctor every couple of months and was on long-term medication which was very effective when he was compliant with his treatment regime.

Magistrate Peter Mellas warned Chapman he risked going to jail if he breached the new CCO.

The court heard Chapman had done 60 hours of the required 75 hours on his current CCO.

Chapman was placed on another 12-month CCO with conditions he perform 50 hours’ community work as well as assessment, treatment and other programs to reduce the chances of reoffending.

The magistrate said Chapman had to come up with other ways to deal with conflict other than getting in someone’s face.
