Cooper will return to the Reds side and the kicking duties for Friday night’s match against South Africa’s Lions.

The Reds have slotted just 43 per cent of their shots this season.

Silky Brisbane Lions left footer Daniel Rich headed down to Ballymore along with the AFL side’s strength and conditioning coach, Matt Hass.

Rich missed almost all of the Lions’ 2014 campaign after rupturing his ACL against the Gold Coast Suns in round three last season.

He has successfully made it through pre-season and is set to play in the Lions’ round one clash with Collingwood almost a year to the day since his injury.

Cooper posted his thanks to the pair on his Instagram today, saying “Appreciate @daniel_grich & hassy coming out to help me work on my kicking..

“Great to get to work with the guys from other codes and learn some different techniques.”

It’s not the first time rugby union players have teamed up with the AFL – ACT Brumbies fullback Jesse Mogg completed some kicking practice with the Brisbane Lions at the start of 2014.
