    VISIT: Some of the Indonesian exchange students at Bendigo’s Chinese Museum.STUDENTS on exchange from Indonesia had an action-packed few weeks in Bendigo and central Victoria earlier this month.

    Eightstudents from Semerang inJavawere invited to Bendigo South East College at the request of former Golden Square Secondary and Bendigo Senior Secondary College student, Erin Burton.

    Ms Burtonhas been working as a maths teacher for the past two years at an international school in Semerang called the Bina Bangsa School.

    This year Ms Burton decided to bringa group of year 9 students home with her to show them regional Victoria.

    BSE students will,in turn, beheading over to visit Semarang in September this year.

    The students stayedwith host families from Bendigo South East College and got toexperienceAustralian schooling and family life.

    As well as attending classes, students visited Bendigo’sCBD, Rosalind Park, climbed the poppet head, explored the Chinese Museum and headed underground at the Central Deborah Goldmine.

    On Friday, they took partin Harmony Day activitiesin BendigoMall where they will got toperform some traditional and modern dances.

    The groupalso had the chance to explore some other tourist attractions inVictoria, such as the Great Ocean Road and Sovereign Hill,before heading back to Indonesia.

    This week the school is playing host toanother group of exchange students, this time from Germany.

    A school representative said the German students spent the day in Melbourne yesterday.
