    2018 - 07.03

    Dear editor,
    Nanjing Night Net

I refer to January 15, 2015 issue of TheIslander.

The good news was shared with readers, that the Weir Cove Storehouse, at Capedu Couedic, has been partly restored.

Congratulations are due to all concernedwith this decision and the subsequentstabilising work.

A commendation to Chris Jones, RobertEllis, Natural Resources Kangaroo Island,State Heritage, and all at Flinders Chasewho have had any involvement.

I think back, with the utmost admiration,to the late Ida Jackson (who taughtme at Kingscote Area School in 1951), wholobbied strongly in the 1980s, through theKI National Parks Consultative Committee,to save and restore the storehouse atWeir Cove.

She never stopped trying to influencesuch actions.

May Ida’s family feel as pleased as I do,that her wishes have been brought tofruition.

    Dene D Cordes,
