    Business Kangaroo Island has now started itsmembership drive and they are inviting all businesseson KI to join.

    Eligibility criteria is simply that you run abusiness on Kangaroo Island, accept the Charter(as previously published) and pay your membershipfee.

    Associate memberships are also available forsupporters of what Business Kangaroo Islandstands for.

    According to chair Sharon Kauppila, BusinessKangaroo Island has already developed a constitution,incorporated and created a membershipkit.

    “We are having a high profile, month-longmembership campaign where we hope to get asmany members as possible,” Ms Kauppila said.

    “Once we have the membership base, we canstart to work with them, understand their challengesand opportunities, how these might affectother businesses, and work with them all to bringabout positive change.

    “We have met with or made representations toseveral high-profile people including Deputy PremierJohn Rau, Kangaroo Island Futures AuthorityBoard, proposed golf course developers,proposed Glenelg to Kingscote ferry investors andmost recently with Minister for Transport StevenMullighan.”

    The working committee of Business KangarooIsland comprises Sharron Kauppila (chair), RodneyBell (deputy chair), Raymond Wadsworth(treasurer), Darren Keenan (secretary and publicofficer), Tom Fryar, Mark Hardy, Ken Rowe,Graeme Connell and Roger Williams.

    The catchphrase for the membership campaignis “Want a positive and prosperous futurefor Kangaroo Island? Now you can play your part- become a member today”.
